Horea Ignat took his first steps as a sculptor (wood-carver) in 1992 at “Ion Vlasiu”- High School in Târgu-Mures, Transylvania, Romania.
During his school years he took part in a series of contests being awarded with the first prize for wood-carving in the final session (1994-95). Upon graduation he was offered a job as a wood-carver. working for over 2 years, when he was admitted as a student at “Petru Maior” University of Târgu-Mures, with major History. He came to the United States aiming a better future and career, his goal being to reach perfection in his art and toopen a business of his own. The great majority of his pieces of art are based on religious and ancient themes as well as abstrac representations. Horea Ignat lives in Estes Park.
Ileana Barbu Expert in three dimensional clay modeling and bas-reliefs for decorative and architectural design purposes using different tehniques and materials. Expert in life drawing and quick sketches capturing the movement and character of a model. Expert in making molds for industrial and sculptural ceramics and for stucco technique. Experienced in teaching classical and modern-conceptual sculpture, drawing and painting, utilizing her extensive knowledge in traditional fine arts (perspective, proportion, artistic anatomy) and art history. Experienced in traditional animation techniques and director animation program. She has a M.F.A. in Sculpture of the Institute of Fine Arts (Bucharest, Romania).
Art exibitions & showings in Boulder (CO), Taos (NM), Bucharest (Romania), Philipstall/Bad Hersfeld (Germany). Invitational artist award, Boulder’s Potters’ Guild (1998). She is today an art-instructor of the Front Range Community College, Longmont (CO).
Ileana Barbu lives in Boulder, together with her daughter, Laura.
